Meet the Granite
Springs Staff....
Kevin Adams
Senior Pastor
Kevin grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and
served as pastor of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Princeton,
Minnesota from 1987-1991. Kevin and Gerry moved to Rocklin, California (a
suburb of Sacramento) to begin Granite Springs Church. Kevin loves that
fact that many of the people attending Granite Springs were not going to
church before this congregation began. Kevin received a Doctor of Ministry
degree in Preaching from Gordon-Conwell Seminary in South Hamilton, MA
where he was mentored by Dr. Haddon Robinson. Kevin has been married to
Gerry for 23 years. They have three children--all adolescents! Kevin also
serves as the “New Church Development Specialist” for Central California
and as director of the “Sierra Leadership Network,” a training program for
new church leaders. In his spare time Kevin coaches soccer, rides a
mountain bike, watches old movies, and visits Lake Tahoe.

Doug Bouws
Pastor of Hospitality
Doug
came to Granite Springs Church in the summer of 2001 for a year long
seminary internship. Upon seminary graduation, Granite Springs invited
Doug to do a church planting residency at Granite Springs. After two
years, the plan was for Doug to start a new church in the South placer
area. That two years helped Doug and Granite Springs realize that he fit
best right here at Granite Springs Church. In 2004, Doug became Granite
Springs’ Pastor of Hospitality. Wearing a variety of hats, Doug leads
teams of deacons, small group leaders, children’s ministry volunteers and
teams for hospitality, connecting and stewardship.
In
his spare time, Doug likes to snow ski, hike, fish, camp, work in the
yard, edit videos and putzt on his computer. Doug and Sheri (his wife, of
course) were married in June of 2000. Doug is grateful to be married in
2000, because he never has to think about what number anniversary he is
on. J
Doug and Sheri have three children ages 6, 4 and 1—all girls!

Sharon
Mikel
Assistant to the Senior Pastor
Sharon, her husband Stuart and their children Rachel and Scott moved to
Rocklin from Grenoble, France. They spent 2 years there on a Foreign
Service Employee opportunity with Hewlett Packard. You can hardly tell
they are Canadians unless they say “out, house or about”! The Mikel family
was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario Canada, about 60 miles west of
Toronto. You can usually find Sharon & family, either at Granite Springs
Church or any hockey arena in a 200 mile radius of Roseville! The Mikel
family feels very much at home at Granite Springs Church and Sharon is
using her gifts of hospitality and organization to help Kevin and to make
everyone else feel “at home” here too.

Aaron Antoon
Director of Music and Worship Arts
Aaron was born in
Southern California, grew up mostly in Wisconsin, went to school in
Michigan, and found himself back in the Golden State in 2001. 2001 was
also a great year because that’s when he married a gorgeous
singer/pianist/runner/swimmer/teacher named Jillayne, who you may
occasionally see onstage with him. In fifth grade, his mother held out
hope that Aaron would return from band signups with a trumpet, but he came
back with drumsticks instead. She’s a good mom. Aaron likes mountain
biking, road biking, trail running, hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing,
writing, photography, and putting all kinds of music in his ears.
