In my pursuit of God, I have found God pursuing me. There is nothing I can do to make God love me more and there is nothing I can do to make God love me less (Ephesians 2:8-9, Luke 15). In response to THIS GRACE OF GOD, I commit myself to Jesus Christ and the local expression of His church made up of the family of Christians at Granite Springs.

  • MY COMMITMENT TO GROWTH (2 Peter 3:18)
My ongoing response to God’s grace is a life of gratitude. This gratitude pushes me away from “rule following” as the way to God, but instead helps me to seek God’s miracle of continued spiritual growth. Growth happens when I commit myself to daily patterns and practices which turn me away from sin and toward God—Bible reading and prayer being fundamental to these patterns.

  • MY COMMITMENT TO GROUPS (Acts 2:46)
As the body of Christ, we gather and celebrate life together. We gather on Sundays to worship God corporately and hear teaching from His Word (Large Groups). We gather in small groups for care, encouragement and study (Small Groups). We gather as women, men, children, seniors for various events (Medium Groups) as part of our life together and our desire to welcome and enfold others.

  • MY COMMITMENT TO GIFTS (Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12)
Because I want to share God's love with others, I plan to discover my spiritual gifts so I can help build up the church. I will always seek to be involved in some form of ministry and to use my time and treasure to serve Christ's cause.

  • MY COMMITMENT TO GOOD STEWARDSHIP (1 Chronicles 29:1-14, Acts 20:35, 2 Corinthians. 9:7-8)
I understand that all of my financial resources and possessions are a gift from God. He has entrusted me with many good things. I commit to administer my financial resources in a way that builds God’s Church.

  • MY COMMITMENT TO GOD-SENT (Matthew 28:18-20)
Because I want as many people as possible to have the joy of knowing Jesus as Savior and to share eternity in heaven, I promise to put aside my personal agenda and concerns for the sake of those not following Jesus. I will join in the effort to serve people and throw parties as the primary means by which God welcomes people into his family.

  • MY COMMITMENT TO TRUTH (Matthew 18:15-20, Eph 4: 25:32)
I understand the great harm that gossip and slander bring the church. I will not damage anyone’s reputation with information that does not need to be shared. When confrontation is necessary, I promise to approach people directly in a spirit of Christian love. If I do not agree with decisions of the elders or staff, I will contact them directly rather than being a source of dissension and division.
